HANP Statement on COVID-19 Vaccine Fraud Instance

The HANP has recently learned about a licensed naturopathic doctor in Napa, California arrested for allegedly falsifying COVID-19 vaccination cards and selling homeoprophylaxis immunization pellets. She has been providing homeoprophylaxis for COVID-19 using medicines manufactured by a facility not registered with the FDA. (If you make and sell drugs, you are required to register your facility with the FDA.)
This doctor is not a member of the HANP. As an organization we condemn the actions of which this doctor is accused. The HANP does not teach, advocate, nor promote the use of medicines that are not approved by the HPUS and regulated by the FDA. As an organization, community, and profession, we take seriously these alleged violations. Putting the health of patients and others at risk by fraudulently presenting any treatment as a replacement for authorized vaccines, and falsifying documents is illegal and unethical. The accusations against this doctor are extremely upsetting and run counter to the values and mission of the HANP and our community of licensed naturopathic doctors. NDs remain leaders in their communities and continue to play a crucial role in supporting individual patients and the interests of public health during the pandemic.
Regulation of the practice of medicine is essential to protect each individual patient and the public. As medical professionals, licensed naturopathic physicians are held to the highest treatment and ethical standards of patient-centered care. Sadly, when one naturopathic doctor acts unethically, it reflects poorly upon the whole profession.
